Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) Orders
MyMedicare.gov lets you order a duplicate Medicare Summary Notice for finalized Part A, B, and DMERC claims. To do this, click on the Order MSN link on the Claim Details page.
You will then be asked to select the reason for ordering a copy of your Medicare Summary Notice. The reasons you can choose are:
- Never received original copy
- Copy needed for other carrier
- Duplicate for my records
- Lost original copy
- Original sent back for appeal
Once you have selected the reason, click Submit to complete your order.
If your MSN order was processed successfully, you will see a message notifying you that your order has been placed and you will receive your MSN in approximately 7-14 days.
If your confirmation message says "Your order will be processed upon system availability", your MSN order will be processed shortly and there is no further action you need to take.
Checking the Status of Your MSN Order
Click on "Track Your Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) Order" on the left hand navigation that appears throughout the Claims section of MyMedicare.gov. This link will take you to a list of requests you made for duplicate Medicare Summary Notices (MSN) as well as replacement Medicare cards. The table shows the type of order (Medicare card or MSN), date requested, claim number (for MSN requests), status of your request, status description, and the last date the order status was updated. Requests made more than 30 days prior to the current date will not be displayed.
